MORE TROOPS DEPLOY TO THE SOUTHERN PNG BORDER

The Papua New Guinea Defence Force yesterday (09/04/2020) deployed more soldiers to the Southern PNG-Indonesia border along the Western Province.

The soldiers are from the 1st Battalion Royal Pacific Islands Regiment at Taurama outside Port Moresby.

The platoon size numbering thirty-seven altogether include the Officer in Command Captain Garesa and his 2nd in command.

The troops arrived in Kiunga at midday to reinforce the current manpower on the ground.

They will focus on the targeted areas of interest along the southern PNG-Indonesia.
